Hi everyone

At the time of writing, it’s gorgeous and sunny here in Birmingham and this lovely weather has obviously brought out the social side of CS members! We’ve had some fantastic socials over the past couple of weeks so thanks to everyone for joining us!

This week, we’re counting down to Birmingham’s second Mass Mingle.  We’ve already got 75 people booked on and the last remaining spaces are going quickly so don’t miss out on the newest trend in online to offline socialising in your city!

Also coming up in July we have *takes deep breath*  Cinema Social at The Electric, Curry Night, Tapas, Girls Night Out, Drinks & Dancing, Sunday Lunch, Acoustic Sessions,  & Italian Brunch.   Not forgetting of course, our regular New Members’ Night – specially geared to make new members feel welcome.

So, there’s something for everyone – if there’s nothing you fancy, then suggest it or upload it yourself.  It’s dead easy and a really fantastic way to meet new people in Birmingham.

We would like to welcome our lovely new hosts; Pooja and Tom who’ll be hosting their first socials in August.  On the subject of hosting, we have a couple of spaces available in the team so if you can commit to hosting one social per month, would like to get your membership for free and REALLY want to make new friends in Birmingham then e-mail sophie@citysocialising.com

Have a great week, get in touch if you have any questions

Last night I met some CitySocialising girls for a ‘Girls Craft Social’ at ‘Drink,Shop, Do’ in Kings Cross and attempted to make a fascinator while drinking pimms & sharing a chair. I didn’t end up with anything I could actually wear on my head but we did all enjoy ourselves and everyone else was much more creative than me. We’ll be back there again soon. Do you know of any other local gems that you could introduce a group to? Create your own social and see what everyone thinks.

Next week I hope you’re coming to our Big Cocktail Social in Holborn. We’ve reserved a special room in one of our favourite central London bars and clubs and we think the combination of cocktails and new people is a winner!

The last Saturday of the month is always Mingle time and this month we’re taking over a lovely London pub for our Mini-Mingle. This Mingle’s for everyone that always chooses a pub over a club for their Saturday night. Just enjoy a few drinks and chatting all evening long!

Other things to look forward to:

If you’re new book on the next weekly ‘New Members Night’ and get started Socialising straight away.

Enjoy an afternoon in one of London’s markets; Spitalfields, Greenwich or Borough.

Food and a chat with some Coffee & Cake in Soho, brunch, lunch, dinner or even a picnic.

Cocktails, cocktails and more cocktails in the best bars all over our city.

Monthly Sunday Film Club or Monthly Sunday Bowling Club

Saturday Nights Out in the West End

Whatever you do, don’t stay in, get out, enjoy London and socialise!

The festival season is in full swing!

Bristol is always a great city for festivals and CS never miss an opportunity. Last week we went to St Pauls Carnival and it seemed like everyone had a great day. You just can’t beat the smell of Jerk chicken, the taste of Rum and the sounds of the Samba bands!

But if you missed St Pauls Carnival then fear not my friends, as we have a great line up of events happening in Bristol over the next couple of weeks and here is just a taster…

This  Saturday, (09th July) is the big paaarrtyyy, the Bristol Mass Mingle. It is the social event of the summer – FACT! We have over 100 people already down to attend and still room for a few more, so this is your last chance to put your name down and join in the fun. Go on go on, it’s going to be a great night!

If you fancy something a little more subdued then why not join Joanne as she heads out to a lovely traditional pub for a scrummy Sunday lunch on Sunday 10th July.

There is really nothing better than sitting out on a sunny evening watching the big screen in millennium square and it just so happens  that on Wednesday 13th July the Royal Opera house are putting on a performance of Cinderella and the lovely Jacqueline will be hosting you. So pick up a bottle of plonk and a deckchair and head on down.

Remember, if you want to check out a local walk, pub, theatre performance, restaurant, film, gig etc and you can’t find the social on our site then go ahead and create your own. It’s a great way of meeting like minded new friends. Otherwise, feel free to message me with your ideas!

Until the next time

Michelle

Hi Everyone,
2011 is half way through and we’re still waiting for some Sun in Manchester – let’s hope July will be the month of lots of sunshine and some relaxing pints in a beer garden. It has been amazing to see so many new and regular faces coming out to socialise in June but if you haven’t had a chance then don’t worry CS Manchester is busting with some new and seasonal socials in July.

I’m sure that you’ve all heard about our next Mass Mingle on 14th July and it is looking quiet promising already! For all the new members’ Mass Mingle is a social where you’ll get a chance to meet 100+ CS members on a great night out with some quality socialising. It’s one of our most popular events and you don’t want to miss it! Book your place now to avoid any disappointment.

Thanks to all the members for creating a great variety of “members’ own socials” as it provides an extra kick and real variety. It’s the Manchester International Festival in July so why not come out to celebrate a weekend in style with some quality music performances in the heart of the city centre. Other highlights of the month include a comedy night, an informative crawl about “The hidden pubs of Manchester”, a live gig, board games and our monthly book club it’s been running for a year now and is really popular amongst our members.

Haven’t had enough? Then why not “create your own social” it’s the most effective way of meeting like minded people and is completely free –. Make sure you regularly check the social calendar as new socials are created each day.

As usual if you have any questions, feedback or an idea for a social you’d like to see being organised then feel free to send me a message on the site or drop me a line on armaan@citysocialising.com – I’d love to hear from you!

Happy Socialising!

A pick and mix

July 4, 2011

So I’ve made it through my first couple of weeks as CS Manager in Sheffield and I’m really starting to get stuck in. My first New Member’s evening was, for me, a real success. There was a great turn out, everyone was chatting and laughing like old school mates from the word go and I nearly remembered everyone’s name! Impressive!

Some of the long-term members who had come along talked me through what they liked doing, what socials were the most successful and what they’d like to see in the future. In the few hours I was there I’d learnt more about my role than I ever could have sat behind my laptop.

Taking a minute to observe the group it was so nice to see how well people were getting on. There was a whole pick and mix of characters, occupations, nationalities and backgrounds – a few of us even laughed at how funny we must have looked to an outsider but on that night had one thing in common and that was to enjoy an evening drink and meet some new friends.

The main thing to come from this night was that more is definitely merrier. If you live in Sheffield, fancy trying some new activities or want to increase your social circle come down and join us. The next New Members evening is on Wednesday July 13. Be great to see you there.

If you have any questions please get in touch caroline@citysocialising.com

How Do!

If you’ve been a part of Southampton CS this past month, you won’t need me to tell me that we’ve been having a great time of it. That’s assuming you haven’t had some kind of memory loss disorder, in which case you probably would need me to tell you again. Anyway, the point is we’ve been having a fun a plenty. We’ve had a beach party, salsa classes, zorbing, pub lunches, bowling, an art gallery viewing, climbing sessions, numerous high quality nights out on the town and a packed out new members night.

CS remains the best way to meet new folk in Southampton, so if you’re up for meeting new folk, then look no further. This is where it all happens. New friends, new experiences and smiles all round.

This coming month we have almost every night of the week booked up with something. I’m particularly looking forward to the paintball, kayaking and new members socials myself. Why not peruse the site yourself and see what takes your fancy.

This month’s new members social is happening on Wednesday 20th July. Be sure to come down to meet some new folk and have a great night out.

Thanks for reading and I hope to see you out and about soon.

Cheers

Adie

Thanks to the bunch of New Members at CitySocialising last night.  We had a brilliant evening having drinkies and watching the sun go down over Guildford!  The Boatman was the perfect venue for such an event!  New Members night is my favorite night!  People sign up, get a belly full of anticipation, turn up and have a great night!!, and leave with new mates and a very good idea about what’s next on the CitySocialising agenda!!  Love it.

Get ready for another social weekend in Guildford too – Cocktails on Friday, Live Music on Saturday and Food & Drink Festival followed by the side splitting (and I’m not joking) Comedy ClubSign up, get out and about on your ‘door step’, meet new friends and enjoy!

Best wishes
