London can be an expensive city but there are plenty of ways to still meet some great new people without breaking the bank. And during the week we’ve got a few penny-saving remedies…
…like our All Night Happy Hour City Drinks tomorrow night where all drinks are half price all night. Tomorrow night, we’re also headed to the Science Museum for their their ever-popular Late programme – the night’s theme is climate change and it’s free. On Thursday, we’re headed to Camden for some reasonably-priced but fantastic live music.
And if you’re tired of saving and just want to get out there and spend a bit on a quality night out, we’ve planned something a bit special for the weekend. To kick off Friday night we’re heading to a fabulous bar for some cocktails & top dim sum, a few Mayfair drinks & socialising and some quality tipple in London Bridge…
And if you fancy something a little exotic, we’re having a brilliant Brazilian night out on Saturday while West Londoners can prove they’ve got what it takes at our drinks & dancing social.
Don’t forget we have a walking tour every weekend and this week, we’ll be in Camden exploring the history of the market area and the old village.
Sunday sees us rounding up in traditional British fashion with a top Sunday roast in South London.
Have a good one!

Well, we’ve been ”open for business” for 3 months now in Liverpool and Newcastle and one of the great things about Newcastle is the enthusiasm for setting up members own events.
Not only are numbers looking good for our CS events, but our members have been adding their input to create what can only be described as a rich tapestry of events in the forthcoming weeks. With events including drinks Socials, ten-pin bowling, cinema nights, football matches, live music and quiz nights – it’s safe to say that our members have caught the CS Super Socialiser bug!
It’s been nice to visit Newcastle over the past few months, meeting some great new people along the way and being shown all the best places to sink a few pints on a nice night out - and I hope everyone that’s been to a CitySocialising Newcastle Social has had just as good a time as me. If you know friends who you think would enjoy what we do, make sure you get them involved – then we can put on even more events, with much greater variety!
Make sure you also check out our updated Share Interests Message Boards – they’re the perfect place to meet the people who are into the same stuff as you – and you can even create your own Social from these pages, meaning you can do what you want, when you want to, with loads of great people who are into the same things as you.
Take care and see you soon

September has been a record-breaker for new members. Nearly 1000 new people have joined CitySocialising in London this month and our new members nights have been a roaring success. New members nights are also the perfect opportunity to meet new people and find out about some of the varied socials we organise.
And we have a great line up this week…
On Tuesday night, we’re heading to Shoreditch for Latin night of dancing. Instructors will be on hand to teach the finer points on the samba and lambada and this is a great night out if you’re keen to wear out your dancing shoes.
The weekend is packed with choices…we have our very popular drinks & dancing social at Madame Jojo’s on Friday, a cuppa at the Friends pop-up shop, the Great Movie Tour, a visit to South Bank’s Alternative Village fete or join us for some laughs at the Sohoho comedy event.
And if you want to go local: West Londoners can head into Hammersmith for a few drinks by the riverside on Wednesday, Brixtonites can join in with the drinks and dancing on Saturday, for Eastenders there’s a trip to the very cool 93 Feet East or end the weekend off with a Sunday Roast in Hammersmith.
Have a good one.

Well there’s a few more days left of summer and incredibly the weather’s been better in September than the whole of the rest of the summer – which just goes to prove that you can’t plan too far ahead with regards to “out-doorsy” types of Socials – just ask the guys who went on our “Summer Drinks and Food on the Terrace” Social – talk about a torrential downpour!
At least now with our Autumn Socials coming into play, there’s no risk of anything spoiling our fun – and with a great mix of indoor activities, plenty of meals and our ever popular Bronze+Silver Member drinks being increased each month – we’ve tried to think of everything to ease you into the dark days in the best way possible.
Coming up in October we’ve meals at Ning, Dimitri’s and The English Lounge, The Manchester Food and Drink Festival Day Out and a great End of Summer drinks night at the brand new Pacific island themed Hula Tiki Bar – and I don’t think I’ve ever picked such an apt place to help squeeze out the last few dregs of summer fun!
There’s also a great mix of “Members Own Socials” which range from a day out at the Manchester Buddhist Centre, to a take no prisoners football match, loads of meals, live music and some great cinema nights. Don’t forget that if you create your own Social from now till the end of October – you can get entered in our CS Super Socialiser Competition – with loads of great prizes to be won, so make sure you don’t miss out.
CitySocialising in Manchester is proving to be the number 1 place to meet new friends in Manchester, share interests and help you live the type of active Social life that you want to – it’s your website, it’s great to have you on board and hopefully see you soon!
Take care
Jonny

We’re fast approaching October and while the festivals are over in Edinburgh, things in Glasgow couldn’t be more different with the forthcoming Merchant city festival keeping everyone on their toes.
Celebrating its eighth year, the Merchant city festival offers one of the most diverse platforms for the arts and features some of the best of Scottish art and entertainment with a packed programme of theatre, music, comedy, fashion, visual art, film, dance and literature. From the 24th- 27th of September, the festival is an ideal way to spend the last weekend of the month so make sure you head out to soak up all the shows!
If you notice something you fancy seeing and would like to do so with one or two friends, you could easily achieve this by advertising on one of Glasgow’s many interest groups online, or organising your own social which gives you extra points – in fact why not do both?
So go ahead, starting making the best of your membership, and enjoy some fantastic shows in the process.

It’s amazing how quickly relationships can evolve from mere acquaintances to good friends. A few weeks back a couple of ladies met at a new members’ social in Edinburgh. Last night, they sat across from me chatting like old friends about everything from ceilidhs and puddings to Colin Firth’s famous pond scene in ‘Pride and Prejudice’… there’s even a Christmas karaoke in the works which I’m hoping to get an invite to. It was clear that since meeting all those weeks ago, they’d kept in touch and seen much more of each other.
For many, change of any kind can be daunting, whether it’s moving to a new city, starting a new job, or ending a relationship. When change happens it’s up to you to step out there meet new people and make the most of your new life!
So if you haven’t been to a new social yet, there’s no time like the present; log in, choose a social, and head out to meet those all important new friends in Edinburgh.

We wanted to let everyone know that our Groups notifications are up and running and about some of the great groups that members are joining and creating each day.
Our Share Interests section of the site is a really successful way to meet your kind of people in your city who are into the same kind of things as you are. Plus you can create your own group if there’s something that you’re into and want to find others into the same.
It’s free to join as many groups as you like and each day we’ll notify you (if you want) of new people joining and the new messages and replies posted to your groups so you can stay in the loop with the days and nights out being organised.
Some of our most popular groups in London out of around 80 – 100 different ones include:
Bars & Pubs group
If you want to meet new friends into after-work and weekend drinks and checking out new pubs and bars
Fitness & Sport group
To find a new gym buddy or set up a five-a-side footie team (which member Alex is trying to do at the moment – click here)
Travel & Adventure group
Meet an adventurous CS crowd for trips and holidays away (a weekend trip to Paris is being planned at the moment amongst other things)
And there are loads more new and quirky ones being added all the time so join as many that interest you, post a message to say hi and browse and say hi to the other members of each group. That’s all it takes to get started – it’s one of the best ways to get involved and the results will be worth it!

Hey everyone,
Miles here from Brighton,
We’ve had a great month so far in Brighton.. there are now more CitySocialisers than ever before enjoying a huge range of Socials down here by the beach! Last week saw our Ultimate Cocktail night in Mekaba’s, which passed off very peacefully and enjoyably, despite some talk of dancing on the tables again…!!
This Wednesday we’re off to the wonderful Duke Of York Cinema to check out the fantastic new Brit Pic Fish Tank - plenty more spaces if you want to join us.
We’re also getting very excited about the CS End Of Summer Party on the 24th. Now you all know what the CS Brighton parties are like…Legendary, nuff said!! Places are literally going like hot buttery cakes, so get yourself on the guest list, AND don’t forget you can all bring a friend for FREE. How cool is that!
We’re also trying out our Taste Of Burlesque dancing class, and there’s now only 4 places left! It’s a first for CS Brighton, but looks like it’s going to be a regular fixture, and no, NO boys aloud!!
If you haven’t done so already , well worth getting involved on the Interest Groups, loads to chat about and discuss so get chatting!!
Well that’s about it from Brighton, but don’t forget, as Jonny has stated below, it’s SUPER SOCIALISER time.. you could win a great prize if you organise your own Social in Brighton, so get creative and get winning!

What a busy time we’ve been having in Manchester with almost all our Socials full in the past few weeks and the highest numbers of “Members Own Socials” on the CS Manchester site since launch. We’ve had everything from outdoors cinema, to gourmet meals, live music and cricket matches being organised by our members (and me with the cricket!!) and with so much choice on offer for our members, we are getting to a great stage of offering just about all sorts of Social activities, each and every week.
We’re also only a month away from our next great CS Manchester Party (Thurs 1st Oct – 7.30pm) so if you can make it down, it will be great to see you then! The first 50 people to arrive get a free drink and with it being held on a Thursday, it’s the perfect opportunity to come down after work and bring a few work friends down to join in the CS fun!
In Newcastle and Liverpool, our numbers have been growing week by week and our Bronze and Silver drinks are becoming really popular with members who fancy joining us for a few casual drinks, meeting new friends and those who want to find out what we’re all about! We’re obviously doing something right with our new members in Newcastle and Liverpool starting to arrange their own great Socials which have seen Movie meets, Book clubs and Football matches all added to the rich mix on offer over the past few weeks.
With this in mind, we’ve launched our brand new search for the number 1 CS Super Socialiser and this is something we think will go down really well with everyone all over the CS cities. Not only do you control what, where and when with regards to your Social life, but you can do it with a bunch of great people - who are into the same things as you, plus get rewarded in the process. You can’t say fairer than that!
As always, I love hearing any feedback, questions or suggestions directly from you so if you want to contact me, please email me on jonny@citysocialising.com
I hope you enjoy all the events you’re booked on to and hopefully I’ll see you soon!

September’s here and the summery weather’s finally given way to more showers, but though it’s colder outside, there’s loads of other ways to have fun inside with City Socialing Glasgow.
In the past few weeks, more CS members have been taking the time go out and meet new friends in Glasgow, in fact, the last New Members night had only one long term member and many more new faces!
If you’ve signed up but haven’t yet been to a social , there’s no time like the present. With our Comedy Night on the 17 Sept and our Mongolian Dinner on the 26th amongst others, there’s a lot to keep you busy. So make the best of September, have some fun and join your CS mates in saying goodbye to good ol’ summer!
